Voices of Pasifika: Samoan Weaving for Kids
Learn traditional Samoan weaving techniques alongside other kids ages 8 and up.
Join us for a variety of programs featuring the diverse cultures of Polynesia, Melanesia, and Micronesia, including Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongan, Fijian, and Cook Islander peoples. All programs are free to attend. Space and supplies are limited. Children ages 8 and up are invited to learn the history and art of lalaga (Samoan weaving)! Each participant will then learn how to lalaga and take their art piece home. This program is limited to 30 children. Doors will close when capacity is reached. Please arrive on time. For children ages 8 and up. Generously sponsored by the Cupertino Library Foundation. For accessibility accommodations (ex. ASL), please fill out the online form at sccld.org/accessibility 7+ days prior to the event.
