Hear SCORE Silicon Valley mentors explain how small businesses can use AI to boost sales and automate workflow.

SCORE Silicon Valley supports entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties with free, expert mentoring and practical guidance to launch, scale, and innovate. This hands-on workshop demystifies AI for small business owners, showing them how to apply it directly to sales, customer capture, and operations starting the same day. The session features two SCORE Silicon Valley mentors leading live, demo-driven instruction. Attendees will watch AI tools applied in real time, with every prompt and workflow included in take-home materials so they can replicate the work on their own businesses immediately. Session 1: Boost Your Sales by Leveraging AI — Vinay Murthy Vinay Murthy is a SCORE Silicon Valley mentor with over 30 years in technology and software, including leadership roles at AWS, Google, YouTube, and 8x8, and two startups he founded. He covers: How AI assistants decide which businesses to recommend, and the levers owner's control How AI receptionists and booking chat capture calls and inquiries that would otherwise be lost How AI shopping agents evaluate products and services, and why unclear pricing or service details make a business invisible to them Setting up automated welcome, follow-up, and win-back messages that run without ongoing effort A prioritized action list tailored to online stores, storefronts, consulting practices, and small B2B companies Session 2: Working Smarter: Automate Your Business with AI — Andrew Apodaca Andrew Apodaca is a SCORE Silicon Valley mentor whose background spans automation, marketing, and analytics at Apple, Adobe, and Zendesk. He covers: Capture: AI-powered forms and chat that qualify and route leads the moment they arrive Automate: Follow-up and re-engagement sequences that run without manual work Measure: Turning existing sales and marketing data into a live dashboard to see what's working Together, the two sessions give small business owners a practical, end-to-end view of how to use AI to win more customers, retain them, and make faster, data-driven decisions — with tools they can start using immediately. Parking validation for garage at 88 S. 4th Street will be provided at the program.
