When the Tiger Smoked a Pipe: The Art of Korea
Explore Korean folklore and art through the Asian Art Museum's collection in this online talk.
Registration is required. Often heard at the beginning of Korean legends and folktales, "When the tiger smoked a pipe" is a familiar phrase akin to "Once upon a time." This program draws from the Asian Art Museum's collection of Korean art to explore a layered and transformative history of artmaking. Renowned for its ceramics and textiles, Korea has also created, adapted, and refined a variety of art forms. Today, Korea is among the leaders of contemporary art production. Presented by the Asian Art Museum. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Mountain View Library.
